  2. Truss 6 PPC Demo. Developed by Hussam A. Dandashli.

  5. Truss 6 is an application that explores the behavior of planar trusses under 
  6. external loading.  It builds, analyzes,  and displays the internal forces in the members 
  7. using color intensities to denote force values.  This new version is for PPC macs only.  
  8. It will run on any PowerMac with the QuickTime extension installed to be able to produce
  9.  movies of a car traveling over the truss.

  13. ∑ PowerPC native version only.
  14. ∑ The application was rewritten in C++ using Symantec C++ visual architecture.  Segments of 
  15.    the code did not fit in the 32K segment limit to produce a non PPC version.  Sorry.
  16. ∑ Balloon help is enabled.
  17. ∑ Shortcut buttons and the color scale reside on  floating pallets.
  18. ∑ Truss colors as well as background and foreground colors can be selected by the user.
  19. ∑ Pattern display has been disabled.  Only colors are available.
  20. ∑ The animation of the car traveling over the truss is done in a separate window.
  21. ∑ The entire truss can be moved with the mouse.
  22. ∑ Applied nodal forces can be assigned by double-clicking a node..
  23. ∑ The full version can be unlocked with a serial number instead of waiting for a full version.
  24. ∑ Some menu items were rearranged, and some were dropped altogether.
  25. ∑ When printing, the truss will be centered and resized to fit on one page.
  26. ∑ The console window was dropped.  The forces text can be exported to a file when needed.
  27. ∑ Automatic snap to grid functionality has been added.
  28. ∑ Method of sections has been dropped since the truss is analyzed automatically.  Only the 
  29.    method of  joints will be used to display joint and/or supports free body diagrams.

  32. This demo version is restricted to 4 joints.  Please feel free to distribute this demo
  33. along with all the files it came with.  The cost of the full version PPC is $25 US.  Non PPC users 
  34. can still use version 5.2 which has the same design functionality.

  43. The demo version is fully operational for 4 node trusses,  and can build but cannot solve trusses
  44. with higher number of joints.

  46. Registered users of version 5.x can get a free upgrade by sending a postage paid 
  47. envelop with a high density floppy disk to the address above, or by sending an 
  48. e-mail address where I can email the new version update key.
